Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) commonly known as Drones is an aircraft without a human pilot witch can be either controlled through a remote control or a built in software that is controlled by super computer.
This technology has a lot of use in the military field and in time it can be even used in our daily life.
The main uses of these are in the military and are often preferred for mission that are not possible for person without risking his or her life, other than this they have even commercial and scientific uses.
Currently many companies are developing Drones for the average consumer like in the photography industry which can be used to take landscape view photos that a normal photographer can't.

Science Behind It
A drone can takeoff in 3 different ways :
1) A horizontal take off and landing where there is a runway
2) A catapulted or a zero length rocket
3) A vertical take off
Once the drone has been launched the advanced robotic algorithms take over the drone or the drone can be controlled by person.
A drone can fly independently using a complex algorithm, a camera and built in software to 3D map its surrounding.
The wing of the drones are fitted with microscopic weeping holes. The material of the drones are usually light materials like carbon fibre which are just as strong.
Military Drones
Military drones are used to in simple missions and in mission where it is dangerous for the pilot.
Usually it is controlled by crew of one pilot and two sensor operators. They are linked using terrain navigation softwares which makes it more vulnerable for the enemy to intercept\

Drones have complicated build and hence they are used in military fields
Hence Drones can have more uses in the coming future.
